Opportunities
Questions or Suggestions
If you are interested in learning more about any of the following opportunities or have a service opportunity to suggest, please contact us.
Greeters
First impressions are critical to any church.
Learn More
Our greeters provide a good impression for all who enter the doors of Haymarket Baptist. Providing a warm welcome is a joy for these volunteers. They share caring words, great smiles, and helpful assistance to bless others in the name of Jesus.
Ushers
We have ushers on duty at every 11:00 a.m. Sunday Service to assist you.
Learn More
Our ushers are located at the front and rear exits of the sanctuary and wear gold tags reading “usher”. Our ushers not only hand out the service bulletins, but aid in seating, collect offerings, help with accepting food donations, assist our police officers with security, provide assistance for those needing special accommodations, cheerfully greet our members and welcome our new visitors. During times of funerals, we normally have ushers available to help with seating and handing out of programs. Our usher team stands prepared to serve the Lord through our Haymarket Baptist Church family.
Jane’s Pantry
Recognizing that God has called us to be a blessing to others, Jane’s Pantry serves as a vehicle to share the overwhelming abundance God has showered on us with those in need in our community.

Emergency food is shared with love and respect to those who come for assistance. It is our intention that they receive not only food for their physical hunger, but generous portions of kindness and grace to feed their spiritual and emotional hungers.
We believe the words of Jesus that this is one way we can respond directly to God’s love for us: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in” (Matthew 25:35). Jane Lawler Strong (10/17/29 – 3/1/19) was a lifelong member of Haymarket Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over fifty years, sang in the choir, founded our outreach food ministries, taught Bible School, served on the Preschool council, and served as the first woman Deacon. Her loving and giving heart would not allow anyone to go hungry, and she was always willing to assist those in need. We continue to fulfill Jane’s mission of serving our community with their unexpected needs through the food pantry named in her honor.
Sanctuary Choir
The Haymarket Baptist Choir, directed and accompanied by Ken Trammell, is a ministry that participates in praise and worship through music.
Learn More
The Sanctuary Choir, singing in four-part harmony, leads the congregation in songs of praise throughout the worship service. In addition to congregational songs from our hymnals, the Choir also praises the Lord through special choral music, solos and mixed part pieces that draw from both a traditional and contemporary repertoire of music. The Sanctuary Choir always welcomes new voices of all types and experiences.”
